Finance & Contracts Specialist

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Administer contracts, subcontracts and cooperative agreements so approvals, extensions, modifications and amendments, supplemental funding requests, key personnel notifications, close-outs and other actions are handled promptly.
  • Monitor financial activity of projects, ensuring internal databases and tools are updated with the latest information.
  • Provide proposal pricing support for current contracts and new solicitations, including the preparation of pricing models and supporting narratives.
  • Work closely with Project Directors and Management to ensure project spend plan estimates are accurate and internal profit targets are met.
  • Coordinate and work with SEI’s Contract Team on financial and administrative matters that impact contracts. 
  • Provide financial or contract reports to internal staff and external clients as required.
  • Work with Management regarding all the particularities of all contracts requirements.
  • Works closely with Accounting department, contracts/billing, and other staff as needed.
  • BA/BS in one of the following: Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or similar.
  • At least two years of experience in government contracting environment required.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel including knowledge of VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, etc.
  • Advanced analytical skills required.
  • Excellent communication skills required.
  • Experience with cradle-to-grave contract life cycle administration required. 
  • Experience with the following contract types: Cost Plus, FFP, T&M, IDIQ, BPA, Task Orders and Hybrid Contracts.
  • Proficiency Microsoft Office Suite 2016 and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) required.
  • Able to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Must be able to prioritize and complete multiple tasks within strict deadlines.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience and proficiency with Deltek Cost Point desired.
  • Four years of experience in government contracting environment desired.
  • Experience with Federal Government and Commercial pricing desired.

  • Work environment: Employees are not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
