Project Director - TTHY

Job Summary:

           Synergy Enterprises, Inc., a woman-owned small business, is seeking a Project Director for a fast-paced, multi-faceted underage drinking and other substance use prevention communications and intervention program for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. The qualified candidate will manage the development of print and digital materials, partnership engagement, outreach and promotion, and evaluation of the campaign for parents/caregivers, schools, and community organizations. The Project Director will also guide the development, launch, and promotion/dissemination of early intervention tools for these audiences. The Project Director will serve as an advisor to the client to help guide and inform best practices related to both the campaign and intervention tools.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Subject matter expertise related to substance use prevention, with a specific focus on underage drinking prevention.
  • An understanding of alcohol policy and its impact on community substance use.
  • Ability to align public health messaging with interventions for communities, schools, and individuals.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing public health programs/interventions at the community level.
  • Demonstrated experience monitoring and evaluating public health programs.
  • Demonstrated experience managing public health communications campaigns at the federal level.


  • 8-10+ years of experience and familiarity with SAMHSA
  • Outstanding project management skills
  • Ability to work with high-level federal officials and subject matter experts and problem solve in a high-stress, time-sensitive environment
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and manage on time delivery of products within scope and budget
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • M.P.H. or Ph.D. preferred
