Sr. Associate, Writer/Editor - Temporary/Part-Time
Job Summary
The Senior Writer/Editor will primarily support Synergy’s work for the U.S. Department of Education by writing, editing, and proofreading technical assistance and training materials, and performing other duties as part of a cross-functional team.
Primary Responsibilities
· Research, write, and/or revise PowerPoint presentations, job aids, and web content for out-of-school time program leaders and practitioners.
· Review, analyze, and translate information on education research and best practices into plain language for project deliverables.
· Collaborate with subject matter experts, instructional designers, and others to develop scripts, storyboards, and training materials for e-learning.
· Verify facts as needed and review content for style, readability, grammar, and alignment with editorial style guides and quality standards.
· Work on multiple deliverables in various stages of completion while meeting all required deadlines.
· Occasionally attend virtual meetings and prepare meeting summaries.
Qualifications
· Minimum of Bachelor’s degree and experience in education or related field
· Five or more years of successful experience in developing PowerPoint presentations and other materials to support synchronous and asynchronous virtual training events
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to collaborate with other team members
· Efficient time and task management skills, including the ability to meet deadlines while producing high-quality work
· Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint applications
