Accounting Assistant
Synergy Enterprises, Inc., a woman-owned government contractor, is seeking a part-time Accounting Assistant. The Accounting Assistant will assist in the organization’s accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
Primary Responsibilities:
Daily
• Enter all payables (Invoice headers, Honoraria, Reimbursements, etc.)
• Sets-up and maintains files
• Manage administrative duties for SEI’s Accounting Department (Copying, Faxing, etc.)
• Filing A/P, bills, honoraria, reimbursement, etc.
Weekly
• Assist in weekly check run. (Selecting vendors, Pulling back-up for checks, & mailing)
Semi-Monthly
• Timesheet review and follow-up
Monthly
• Ensure all monthly vendor bills received
Yearly
• Assist in preparing the data needed for annual audits
Qualifications:
• High School diploma required; Associate degree preferred
• Preference for at least 1 year experience or equivalent education
• Excellent attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel) preferred; Deltek experience preferred
Other job requirements:
• Evening and/or weekend work may be required
• Position is hybrid and will require the ability to commute to our headquarters in North Bethesda, MD
Physical demands and work environment:
• Physical demands: While performing duties of job, employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle objects and documents; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision. Employee may use office equipment such as telephone, computer, computer software, calculator, printer, copier, and facsimile.
• Work environment: Employees are not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
