Accounting Assistant Intern
Job Summary:
Synergy Enterprises, Inc., a woman-owned government contractor, is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant Intern to support the Accounting Department with a variety of administrative and accounting-related tasks. This internship provides students with practical experience in a professional office environment while developing organizational, communication, and basic accounting skills.
This position is designed for students seeking school credit and/or a stipend and requires a commitment of 5–10 hours per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Enter accounting and financial data accurately into spreadsheets and accounting systems.
- Organize, file, scan, and maintain accounting and financial documents.
- Assist with electronic and paper record management.
- Prepare and organize documents for audits, reporting, and other accounting functions.
- Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other accounting processes as assigned.
- Assist with data verification and ensure accuracy of financial records.
- Perform general clerical and administrative duties in support of the Accounting Department.
- Answer phones, schedule meetings, and assist with other office tasks as needed.
- Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a professional office environment.
Preferred:
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Interest in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
- Previous office, clerical, or administrative experience is helpful but not required.
